GDPR is a good thing

GDPR is a good thing (honest) but I’ve read about the problems and delays in enforcement across EU countries (France and Germany particularly frustrated with Ireland). Therefore this move by Google, if true, would not surprise me - although I’ll keep a close eye on ToS updates for Gmail for a while. Remember when you needed an invite? It’s been that long with those accounts.

The thought of potential data complications for whatever deal the UK ends up with makes me want to pour a large stiff drink. DPOs should be all over it, they are your friend. This is also a good resource for updates
